Today I’m sharing a Wood Words card idea. At first glance you’d be forgiven for thinking this isn’t from the Wood Words stamp set, because the images in the catalogue pull your eyes to the rooster, star, moon and heart shapes, then to all those sentiments that are available too. For some reason you eye skips over the gorgeous flower spray that also comes as part of this set.

Wood Words Card Idea

Rather than using the browns and creams associated with the Wood Words Suite, I am using the new Powder Pink and pairing it with Rose Red! What a difference it makes from the other samples. Just stamp the floral spray in Powder Pink ink onto Whisper White – first in one corner, then turning the stamp around 180 degrees stamp it in the opposite corner. The shape of the stamp’s outline will help you work it out.

This card also uses a sentiment from the Beautiful Bouquet set. There are some great sentiments in the set. They cover so many useful occasions. In this instance I just used the simple Happy Birthday stamp. I stamped the words in Rose Red on Whisper White and cut it out using the smallest of the Stitched Shapes Framelit ovals. Cut another scalloped oval with the Oval Layering Framelits in Rose Red and they layer perfectly.
