Stampin Creative Header LogoWelcome to this month’s blog hop from the Stampin’ Creative design team. This month we’re talking Birthday Bonanza with Stampin’ Creative! Why? Because there are so many amazing Birthday stamps, sentiments, designs and ideas in the Annual and Spring / Summer catalogues! If you’ve joined me from Mikaela welcome (I know she’ll have had some amazing projects) or if you’re joining me direct – helloooo! So nice to have you with us today. Here’s my Birthday Bonanza card – I hope you like it?

Birthday BonanzaThis was a case from Shelli Gardiner Co-founder of Stampin’ Up! If you’re going to copy someone, Shelli is a pretty good person to start with! Shelli is always a little bit more grungy or layered than my normal style, so I always cut something out or down, but this one sang to me and I just had to make my version of it!

Birthday Bonanza

Birthday Bonanza Small

Watercolour on Shimmery White card stock is something special. A flick of versamark from the reinker and some gold Stampin’ Emboss powder adds depth, then a little metallic thread for more sparkle and the new Lace Doily. Finished with a gorgeous gold dragonfly using the Dragonfly Thinlit dies, Matched with Melon Mambo it’s a wow in an envelope!

Such a lovely card. I real like the colour combination and would love to know what colours you have used for the watercolour background. The flicks of Versamark with the gold embossing is a stroke of genius, love it and I will give that a try. Thank you so much. Take care.

Hi Linda! So glad you like it 🙂 I used the new Watercolour Pencils but you could use our ink pads too. Colours are Rich Razzleberry, Real Red, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral and Dafodil Delight. Just rub the pencils merging them together and then spritz with water! So pleased you like my Versamark flicks! Have fun and let me know how you get on! Hugs Pip

Thank you so much for getting back to me Pip, I appreciate it. I got the Watercolour Pencils about 2 weeks ago now but not yet had chance to use them. I’m hoping to get in some craft time tomorrow, fingerers crossed. Have a good weekend.

Fabulous card and I think we all need to release our inner “Shelli” every now and then. I must follow in your footsteps and get a little messier with my stamping. Thanks for the inspiration x
